Since 1930 Bowes “Seal Fast” has been participating in auto racing. The products developed and continually tested through racing are among the fastest selling Bowes merchandise in the Bowes product offering. For 4 decades and still continuing Bowes owned and sponsored race cars have entered and competed in numerous Indy 500 races. Over the span of those years 39 cars know as the “Bowes Seal Fast Special”, vied for starting positions, and 36 made the race. Twice the coveted pole position went to a Bowes Car. Even more important the checkered flag was waved for a Bowes winner…..1931 for driver Louis Schneider and again in 1961 with Motorsports Hall of Fame driver AJ Foyt. Of the 36 cars that started, 11 placed in the top six.
