Since 1930 Bowes “Seal Fast” has been participating in auto racing. The products developed and continually tested through racing are among the fastest selling Bowes merchandise in the Bowes product offering. Having associated with race drivers and mechanics, Bowes has gained the product knowledge essential to develop and sell the best products on the market. Bowes has utilized the biggest and best race course in the world the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a outdoor laboratory for research and development of many of its products. For 4 decades and still continuing Bowes owned and sponsored race cars have entered and competed in numerous Indy 500 races. Over the span of those years 39 cars know as the “Bowes Seal Fast Special”, vied for starting positions, and 36 made the race. Twice the coveted pole position went to a Bowes Car. Even more important the checkered flag was waved for a Bowes winner…..1931 for driver Louis Schneider and again in 1961 with Motorsports Hall of Fame driver AJ Foyt.
